Dear ITSS Members,

The IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) is now accepting nominations for candidates to serve on the ITSS Board of Governors (BoG) for the 2026–2028 term.

In accordance with the Society Bylaws, five (5) members are elected annually to serve three-year terms on the BoG. These individuals play a vital role in managing the Society’s resources, representing ITSS within IEEE, and guiding our technical publications, conferences, and member benefits.

BoG members are expected to actively participate in BoG meetings, held virtually or in conjunction with our flagship conferences—the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, nominees must:

  • Be active members of both IEEE and ITSS in good standing
  • Hold the IEEE membership grade of Member or higher
    (Student and Graduate Student Members are not eligible)

The Nominations & Appointments Committee will also consider:

  • Technical contributions and accomplishments
  • Service to IEEE and ITSS
  • Familiarity with ITSS operations (e.g., technical committees, publications, chapters)
  • Leadership experience and teamwork
  • Vision and values aligned with ITSS

Elected BoG members are expected to attend meetings regularly and complete all responsibilities in a timely manner. Travel expenses to in-person meetings are typically covered per IEEE travel policies.

Petition Nominations:

As outlined in Article V, Sections 9–10 of the ITSS Bylaws, members may also nominate candidates by petition. Petitions must be submitted to IEEE by 15 May 2025.
