Short Description
Logistic and transportation networks are characterized by a high degree of complexity in terms of organization, administration and technologies, thus requiring focused attention both by researchers and industry partners. The development of innovative approaches is now becoming more and more pressing, due to the necessity of managing logistic and transportation systems in an efficient, synchronized and integrated way towards smart, safe and sustainable mobility environments.
Goal
The main scope of the TC activities regards the development of decision, control and optimization methods/tools for the analysis, supervision, planning and management of transportation systems. The main topics of interest for the TC include (but are not limited to):
- Traffic Control
- Cooperative Driving of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles
- C-ITS
- Transport Model and Control
- Sustainable and Electric Mobility
- Cooperative Connected Automated Mobility
- Smart Mobility
- Planning and Control of logistic systems.
Committee Activities
- contact of new members (especially for under represented areas)
- identification of members with specific roles (e.g., editorial activity, contacts with industry, TAB strategic plan and new initiatives, …)
- organization of editorial activities (special sessions already planned)
- organization of the TC meeting (at ITSC2024)
- organization of webinars
Activities Report 2023
- Organization of the Invited Session “Traffic Control and Connected Autonomous Vehicles: benefits for efficiency, safety and beyond” at ITSC 2030, Organizers: C. Pasquale, A. Petrillo, S. Santini, S. Siri
Special Issues in journals
- The TC members Alberto Petrillo and Stefania Santini with Francesco Flammini and Dario Giuseppe Lui are organizing a Special Issue in IEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems on “Connected and Automated mobility by road and rails: emerging methodologies and technologies”
