Short Description

Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) Logo

Founded in early 2026, the IEEE ITSS Nirma Institute of Technology Student Branch Chapter brings together students interested in Intelligent Transportation Systems and emerging mobility technologies. The chapter aims to bridge academia with real-world transportation innovation through AI/ML, autonomous vehicles, smart traffic, and connected mobility.By connecting students with experts and hands-on learning, we foster practical skills, research exposure, and innovation in next-generation transportation.

Chapter Activities

We are building the chapter through a mix of expert interaction, technical learning, and hands-on exploration, with a focus on turning concepts into real-world ITS solutions.

  1. Expert Sessions: Talks with global researchers and ITS leaders, including Dr. Maryam Kaveshgar and Prof. Junmin Wang, covering autonomous systems, V2X, vehicle control, and mobility intelligence. I
  2. Hands-on Workshops: Practical sessions such as Traject IQ, introducing students to transportation APIs, Python, AI/ML, and real-world mobility data.
  3. Future Goals: Expand into student-led ITS projects, interdisciplinary collaborations, and larger technical initiatives focused on autonomous vehicles, smart traffic, connected mobility, and Al-driven transportation.

How We Plan to Achieve Our Goals

  1. Learn from Experts: Organize regular lectures, technical sessions, and interactions with researchers and industry professionals.
  2. Learn by Building: Conduct hands-on workshops, challenges, and student projects that turn ITS concepts into working solutions.
  3. Build a Community: Connect students across disciplines with the global IEEE ITSS network to encourage collaboration, research, and innovation.
