John (Hyoshin) Park
John (Hyoshin) Park is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computational Data Science & Engineering at the North Carolina A&T State University (NCA&T), USA. He is the funding director of the LEarning, Active sensing, Robust optimizatioN (LEARN) Lab. He has been a Visiting Professor at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology during summer (2018, 2019, and 2021). He was also a Graduate faculty at University of Massachusetts, Amherst (2017-2018). Prior to NCA&T, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (2015- 2016). He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at University of Maryland (2016). He was an onsite Contractor at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, FHWA (2014-2015) and a Research Scientist at Yonsei University (2010). He earned industry experience as a Research Scientist at Chungsuk Engineering Co.Ltd (2007-2010). He holds Master's degrees in Urban Planning and Engineering (2007), double majors in B.S. degree in Physics (2005) and Urban Planning and Engineering degree (2005) from Yonsei University. His research interests are data mining and decision support for smart cities especially through active sensing and learning information in large scale transportation networks with emerging technologies.
