Dr. Yue Hou is an Associate Professor in the College of Metropolitan Transportation, Vice Deputy Director of Institute of Road and Railway, Beijing University of Technology, China. Prior to BJUT, he worked in the National Center for Materials Service Safety, University of Science and Technology Beijing (2016-2017) and was the postdoctoral research associate at Shandong University (2015) and Virginia Tech (2014). He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech (2014), USA. As the Principal Investigator, Dr. Hou?s research projects include the National Natural Science Foundation of China project, the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province project, the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, etc. As the Principal Researcher, he participated in the projects funded by the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, Federal Highway Administration, etc. In his career, he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal/conference papers, participated in more than 10 important international conferences including TRB, EMI, SES, etc. He is currently the editorial board member of 5 international journals (IEEE T-ITS, PICE-ES, PLOS ONE, ACE, AMSE) and reviewer for more than 30 journals/conferences. Dr. Hou?s research interests mainly include the intelligent transportation infrastructure system, and evaluation, monitoring and maintenance on the transportation infrastructure and materials using advanced sensing and AI technologies.
