Sivakumar Rathinam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A & M University. He received a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007. He worked as a research scientist in Air Traffic Control at the NASA Ames Research Center, California from 2007 to 2008. He has been at Texas A & M since 2009. He was awarded the Air Force Faculty Fellowship in 2015 and has received the best paper award in the 2015 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems. His research interests include autonomous vehicles, algorithms, motion planning, optimization, vision based control, and air traffic control. He is a senior member of IEEE. He has reviewed 48 papers for IEEE Transactions on ITS over the last 14 years.
