Bio:
Jing XUN received the B.S. degree and the PhD degree from Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), Beijing, China, in 2004 and 2012, respectively. In 2012 he joined the State Key Laboratory (SKL) of Rail Traffic Control and Safety, at BJTU and has been promoted to a full professor in 2021. He became the Deputy Director of Autonomous Operation Research Division of the School of Autonomous and Intelligence, BJTU in 2022. He was appointed as a member of the Science and Technology Committee at the School of Autonomous and Intelligence, BJTU.
Jing has significant experience in collaborating with international transportation experts through his involvement in global projects. From 2008 to 2009, he visited California PATH at UC Berkeley and participated in the USDOT-sponsored SafeTrip 21 project. He developed algorithms for a dynamic multimodal traveler information system, which was successfully demonstrated during the 2008 ITS World Congress in New York. In 2017, he led a project titled "Energy-efficient Automatic Train Operation (ATO)," supported by the UK government's Newton Fund. He collaborated with colleagues at the University of Leeds and UK FIRST Group, developing speed optimization methods to improve ATO efficiency.
Jing was elevated to IEEE Senior Member in 2018. He began serving as an Associate Editor for T-ITS in 2020 and handled the review of approximately 50 papers. As an Associate Editor for IEEE ITSC, he managed more than 10 peer reviews per year and successfully organized a series of special sessions titled "Smart Railway" at ITSC 2018 and 2019. He has also been involved in organizing several IEEE conferences, such as IEEE ICIRT.
He has published over 60 papers with co-authors from Europe, America, and Asia, as well as one white paper and one monograph. His awards include being the corresponding author of the Best Paper at IEEE DDCLS 2024.
