Sivakumar Rathinam is a Professor and Industrial Advisory Council Faculty Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. His research interests include autonomous vehicles, motion planning, algorithms, optimization, vision-based control, and air traffic control. He is an ASME Fellow and a senior member of both IEEE and AIAA. He has received several summer faculty fellowships from the Air Force and Navy Research Labs. He received the Best Runner-Up Paper Award at the 2021 International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling (ICAPS) and the Best Paper Award at the 2015 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS). He has served as an Associate Editor for several journals, including the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems.
