The IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) Student Chapter at Clemson University is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth in the field of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). As part of the global IEEE ITSS community, the chapter provides a platform for students interested in ITS technologies including connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV), smart mobility solutions, and cybersecurity of transportation cyber physical systems (TCPS). Through technical workshops, guest lectures, research discussions, career talks, industry visits, technology demonstrations, voluntary activities, and networking events, the chapter connects students with industry professionals, researchers, and fellow TCPS enthusiasts. This chapter also encourages interdisciplinary collaborations, bringing students from diverse academic disciplines to contribute to real world transportation challenges. By engaging in cutting-edge projects, competitions, conferences, and community outreach initiatives, the student chapter at Clemson University plays a pivotal role in preparing the future leaders in ITS.

The student chapter operates under the guidance of Dr. Mashrur “Ronnie” Chowdhury, the Eugene Douglas Mays Chair of Transportation in the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering with a joint appointment with the School of Computing at Clemson University.
