IEEE ITSS Ad Hoc Committee on Women & Underrepresented Groups

Welcome to Wi-ITS

Out of our belief in the importance of diversity and the magnificent role our women in ITS do in bringing a positive difference in our society, the IEEE ITS society has launched the IEEE ITSS Ad hoc Committee on Women and Underrepresented groups (Wi-ITS) since 2023. This committee is established to support and promote the visibility and roles of underrepresented groups including both women and minority groups in ITS by providing a venue for their professional and leadership growth.

Our role is to bring together members that come with the same interest in empowering and developing women and minority groups in the ITS field. The philosophy is to facilitate the development of programs and activities that promote the entry into, and retention of, women in ITS programs. This would have potential benefits for both our members’ segment of women and underrepresented groups as well as the whole ITS society through attracting, mentoring, training, and developing more diverse leaders and calibers in the ITS society.

Any woman ITSS member is automatically a member of Wi-ITS. And of course, anyone supporting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is also welcome to join our committee. Now, we are on the path to positioning our ITS society as a leader in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion among other IEEE societies.
