Each September, a select number of new Distinguished Lecturers will be appointed from this pool to serve a two-year term, expected to start on January 1st of the forthcoming year .

Roles & Responsibilities

During their two-year term, Distinguished Lecturers are required to deliver one public webinar as part of the IEEE ITSS Distinguished Seminar Series. They are also expected to be available for in-person seminars hosted by IEEE ITSS local chapters or student branch chapters. Their lecturers will be video recorded and subsequently shared with all ITSS members. Only requests submitted by an IEEE ITSS local chapter or student branch chapter and approved by the Vice President for Membership are eligible for travel subsidy. ITSS does not cover travel expenses for Distinguished Lecturers invited to conferences, workshops, plenary sessions, or keynote addresses outside the approved chapter program.

Upon approval of the DL nomination, each DL is asked to upload a 15 minute research presentation and send the video clip to Dr. Kai Wang and Dr. Zhong-Ping Jiang.

For the sponsored visit of a DL, the DL’s seminar will be video-recorded and be made accessible to all members of ITSS.
