ITSS Chapter Formation

The ITS Society encourages its members to learn more about ITS by meeting locally and bringing in expert speakers. If you and your colleagues are interested in forming an ITS chapter in your IEEE Section, please see information on forming a new chapter.

Please be sure to examine your Eligibility to Form a Society Chapter: The organizer of a new Chapter must be of Member, Senior Member of Fellow grade. A minimum of 12 higher grade members are required to sign the new Chapter petition.

Please contact the ITSS VP for Membership for questions related to membership issue. Please contact the ITSS VP for Technical Activities for matters related to local chapter’s activities.

Distinguished Lecturer Program

The purpose of the IEEE Distinguished Lecturer program is to provide the ITSS local chapters with outstanding speakers for meetings, conferences, and other events and to recognize the professional contributions of the selected Distinguished Lecturers. The program encourages the collection, dissemination and sharing of technical knowledge. To request a Distinguished Lecturer for your chapter activities, click here.

Request for Funding and Report of Activities

Chapter Chairs can manage their chapter’s financial needs and activity reporting using the following options:

  • Request for Funding: Submit a detailed request for financial support, including the purpose, amount needed, and a budget breakdown. Ensure you provide all relevant documentation to facilitate review and approval.
  • Report of Activities: Complete a report summarizing recent events, member engagement, and outcomes. This helps us track your chapter’s progress and share successful practices across the organization.

Choose the method that best fits your needs, and contact IEEE ITSS VP for Membership if you need further assistance.
