The Cyprus Chapter of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Society was established in 2022 to serve as the primary platform in Cyprus for professionals, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field to come together, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest developments. In this direction, the IEEE ITSS Cyprus Chapter aims to (a) provide networking, educational, and professional development opportunities to ITS stakeholders in Cyprus, (b) promote research and innovation initiatives among academia, industry, and government at a national level, (c) engage students in ITS, and (d) raise awareness of ITS among the general public.

Chapter Activities

The main activities of the IEEE ITSS Cyprus Chapter are concentrated around the following:

  • Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information in the ITS community. This includes organizing seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Networking Opportunities: Provide a platform for networking among ITS stakeholders in Cyprus. This can help members to establish connections, collaborate on projects, and share experiences.
  • Professional Development: Support the professional development of individuals involved in ITS. This may involve organizing training sessions, webinars, and other educational activities.
  • Research and Innovation: Encourage and promote research and innovation initiatives in the field in academia, industry and government at the national level.
  • Student Engagement: Strengthen student engagement in ITS by organizing events and competitions.
  • Community Outreach: Engaging with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of ITS. This could involve educational programs, outreach to schools, and involvement in community events.
