Zak M. Kassas
Zaher (Zak) M. Kassas is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine, and the Director of the Autonomous Systems Perception, Intelligence, and Navigation (ASPIN) Laboratory. He received a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the Lebanese American University, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University, and an M.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2018, he received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award, and in 2019, he received the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Program (YIP) award. He received the 2018 IEEE Walter Fried Award and the 2018 Institute of Navigation (ION) Samuel Burka Award. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
