Bio:
Yaobin Chen is a Chancellors Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of Transportation Active Safety Institute (TASI) in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana UniversityPurdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He received his M.S. and PhD degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York in 1986 and 1988, respectively and his B.S. degree from Nanjing Institute of Technology, China, in 1982. He is a senior member of IEEE, and a member of SAE and ASEE. He is an author/co-author of over 150 papers published in refereed journals and conference proceedings and a co-editor of a research book in his research field.
Research Interests
1. Advanced vehicle active safety systems;2. Automated driving and connected vehicles;
3. Naturalist driving data analytics for ITS/IV;
4. Electric and hybrid vehicles.
