Bio:
Dr. Chuan Hu is a tenure-track Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, starting from July, 2022. Before that, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks, AK, USA from June, 2020 to June, 2022. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, Austin, USA, from August, 2018 to June, 2020, and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Systems Design Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada from July, 2017 to July, 2018. He received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada in 2017, the M.S. degree in Vehicle Operation Engineering from the China Academy of Railway Sciences, Beijing, in 2013, and the B.S. degree in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2010. His research interest includes the perception, decision-making, path planning, and motion control of intelligent and connected vehicles (ICVs), autonomous driving, eco-driving, human-machine trust and cooperation, shared control, and machine-learning applications in ICVs. He has published more than 60 papers in these research areas. He is currently an Associate Editor for several leading IEEE Transactions journals in the ICV filed: IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles.
