Bio:
Der-Horng Lee is a Professor of Transportation Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Director of Transport Research Centre jointly established by NUS and Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA). He received his PhD from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1996. He was an Honoree of 2002 TR100 Award (now known as TR35) by MIT's Technology Review. He is a Fellow of Institutions of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the inaugural batch of Chartered Engineer (CEng) of transportation engineering. He is the author/coauthor of over 350 papers. A transportation engineer by training, Professor Lee has been recognized not only by academics but also well received by government agencies and transportation industry as a thought leader. Professor Lee has been extensively quoted and frequently interviewed by local and international media (including Channel NewsAsia (CNA), MediaCorp, Phoenix Satellite TV, CCTV, Xinhua Press, Reuters, BBC, CNN, NHK, ANN (Japan), KBS, Ch8-Korea, etc.) with 400 over newspaper quotations and 100 over TV and radio interviews on annual basis) with his views and proposals on mobility, transportation policies and urban development.
