Hans van Lint is Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Professor of Traffic Simulation & Computing at Delft University of Technology (DUT) and Director of the Delft Integrated Traffic and Travel Laboratory (DiTTLAB.org). He received his Masters and PhD from DUT in 1997 and 2004 respectively. He is member of IEEE, two standing TRB committees, and involved in many international projects and collaborations. His research focus is on the interface between traffic flow theory & simulation and advanced data assimilation techniques. Within DiTTLAB, van Lint works on techniques to make (big) data available for traffic research and on open-source traffic simulation tools (opentrafficsim.org). He is the author/coauthor of over 150 papers to peer reviewed journals and conferences and has (co)promoted 8 PhDs thus far.
