Leila Hajibabai

Bio:
Dr. Leila Hajibabai is an Assistant Professor in the Edward P. FittsDepartment of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina StateUniversity. She was an assistant professor in the Department of Civil
Engineering at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (2017-
2019). Prior to that, she was a faculty at Washington State University. Dr.
Hajibabai has completed her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Transportation
Systems, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and has
received two M.Sc. degrees, one in Industrial Engineering (2013) and the
other in Civil Engineering (2006). Her research interests are in the areas of
systems analytics and optimization, and supply chain logistics. Her research
utilizes operations research to improve the design, performance, and maintenance of complex
transportation systems. Dr. Hajibabai is a member of INFORMS, and TRBs standing committee
on Maintenance and Fleet Equipment. She is also a member of the Emerging Technologies
subcommittee of TRBs Transportation Network Modeling standing committee. She is a chair of
the TRB's Young Members subcommittee of Highway Maintenance Section.
