Bio:
Marcello Montanino is Assistant Professor at University of Naples Federico II in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering. He received his Master’s degree and PhD in transportation engineering in 2010 and 2014. His research interests include microscopic traffic flow modelling and simulation, design of control algorithms for Autonomous Vehicles and Automatic Train Operation systems, modelling of vehicle energy consumptions, reflected by more than 30 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and 2 book chapters. He is co-author of the reconstructed NGSIM vehicle trajectory dataset which has been applied in more than 150 research studies worldwide. In 2012, he was recipient of the Greenshields Prize of the TRB of the National Academies, USA, and, in 2013, of the Best Simulation Paper of the TRB Joint Traffic Simulation Subcommittee.
