T-ITS Editorial Board Member

Luis M. Bergasa is a Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at Universidad de Alcal (Spain) and Director of Technology Transfer in this university since 2014. He was Head of his Department from 2004 to 2010. He received his Ph.D from Universidad de Alcal in 1999 and his M.S. from Universidad Politcnica de Madrid in 1995. His research interests include camera-based sensing and perception for intelligent vehicles and robotics. He has authored or co-authored more than 160 refereed publications in international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings; as well as 7 national patents and 1 PCT. He has been involved in co-founding Vision Safety Technologies Ltd, a spin-off to commercialize computer vision systems for road infrastructure inspection. He has been recipient or supervisor of 17 prizes related to robotics and automotive fields, 6 of them granted by the IEEE ITS Society. He has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Vehicular Technology, and has served on ProgramOrganizing Committees in more than 15 conferences. He has been IEEE member of the RAS and ITS Societies for more than 10 years.
