Monica Nicoli is Associate Professor of Telecommunications in the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy, where she teaches Localization, Navigation and Smart Mobility and Communication Technologies for Vehicles. She received the M.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering (cum laude) in 1998 and the Ph.D. in Electronic and Communication Engineering in 2002, both from Politecnico di Milano. In 2001, she was Visiting Researcher with Uppsala University, Sweden. In 2002, she joined Politecnico di Milano as a Faculty Member. Her research interests cover wireless communications and statistical signal processing for ITS, with emphasis on V2X communications, localization and navigation, cooperative and distributed systems for the Internet of Vehicles. She has co-authored over 120 journal and conference peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and patents. She is recipient of the Marisa Bellisario Award (1999), co-recipient of the BestStudent Paper Award of the IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop (2018) and Best Paper Award the IET Intelligent Transport Systems Journal (2014). She served as Associate Editor of the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking from 2010 to 2017, and as Lead Guest Editor for the Special Issue on Localization in Mobile Wireless and Sensor Networks in 2011.
