Seung-Hyun Kong (M?06-SM?16) is an associate Professor in the CCS Graduate School for Green Transportation of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he has been a faculty member since 2010. He received B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, in 1992, M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Polytechnic University, New York, in 1994, and Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University, Palo Alto, in 2005. Dr. Kong has more than 12 years of R&D experience in the industry including Samsung Electronics, Korea, and Qualcomm, San Diego, USA, where he was involved with mobile communication systems, wireless positioning, and assisted GNSS. Since 2010, he has been involved with several national projects related to the development of robust GNSS techniques, vehicular navigation systems, and future transportation systems. His research interests include vehicular localization and navigation techniques, deep learning techniques for vehicle sensors and sensor fusion, autonomous vehicles, and vehicular communication systems (V2X). He has authored over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and 12 patents. He has served as an editor of IEEE T-ITS, Access, and IET RSN for multiple years and as the lead guest editor of 4 journals. He has served as a committee chair and a program committee member of several conferences and is serving as a co-program chair of ITSC2019.
