Bio:
Tarek Alskaif is an Assistant Professor at the Information Technology Group, Wageningen University, the Netherlands and the coordinator of Data Science Bachelor at the same university. He received the Ph.D. degree (cum laude) from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC BarcelonaTech), Department of Computer Architecture, Spain, July 2016 and obtained the B.Sc. degree and the M.Sc. degree in Computer and Automation Engineering from Damascus University, Syria in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is the authorcoauthor of 50 peer-reviewed papers mostly in Q1 journals. His research interests are in the modeling, simulation and digitalization of energy systems, with focus on the stochastic optimization of Eclectic Vehicles charging processes and techno-economic analyses on their grid impact. He has served as a reviewer, editor, TPC, publication and technical chair in top international journals and conferences in the area of cyber-physical systems. Past research projects include “Participatory platform for sustainable Energy management” (principle investigator, EU), “A Blockchain-based platform for peer-to-peer energy transactions between Distributed Energy Resources” (coordinator, RVO, Netherlands), “Smart EV Solar Charging” (EU), “FLEET” (RVO, Netherlands), and “Energy Intranets” (NWO, Netherlands).
