Xudong Jia, Ph.D., P.E. is Professor and Associate Dean of College of Engineering and Computer Science, California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Also, he is an honorary professor of Wuyi University, China. He was the Professor and Chair of Civil Engineering Department, California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly Pomona), 2014 ? 2020. He received his BS and MS degrees in transportation engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University in 1983 and 1987, his MS degree in transportation engineering and planning from University of Toronto in 1992, and his Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1996. Dr. Jia has been working in the areas of civil engineering and transportation engineering education, applied research, and consulting for more than 25 years. He received the Outstanding Organization and Individual Achievement Award from the US National Transit Standards Consortium in 2000 and the Provost?s Award of Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activities, Cal Poly Pomona, 2019. He was a technical consultant managing the Regional Integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (RIITS) for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA or LA Metro), 2008-2014. RIITS is a big data environment that helps transportation professionals collect, store, and analyze real-time data from multiple transportation systems. Dr. Jia is an author of two textbooks and more than 50 peer-review journal papers and 30 technical papers in transportation and other conferences.
