Yiqi Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University-University Park, starting in 2017. She is affiliated with the Larson Transportation Institute and the Center for Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence at Penn State. She received a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering at the University at Buffalo in 2017. Her research interests include human performance modeling, driver cognition and behavior, trust in automation, and human-machine interfaces. Her current work focuses on driver-vehicle interaction challenges and their implications in designing connected and automated vehicle systems. She has published over 30 referred journal articles and conference proceedings. She has served on the editorial board for Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing & Service Industries and served as the associated editor for the 13th International ACM Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications in 2021. She is the current Program Chair of Human Performance Modeling Technical Group of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES). She has been a recipient of several prestigious awards, including HFES HPM Best Paper Award in 2018, ICAHF Best Paper Award in 2016, and advised and co-authored on two Best Student Paper Awards from HFES Surface Transportation TG in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
