Brief Abstract:

Vehicle electrification is a critical strategy in decarbonizing the transportation sector. There are now many light-duty electric vehicles on the market, and they are quickly becoming a significant fraction of the vehicle fleet. Electrifying heavy-duty vehicles is also being considered for specific use cases. As the EV market share continues to grow, it is critical to have charging infrastructure keep up, allowing for ubiquitous charging while our electric grid remains robust and resilient. There is much we can do to enhance transportation-oriented electric grid-integrated operations, where we use electricity as both a carbon neutral transportation fuel and as an energy storage medium. In this webinar, we identify key research and development topics in this important area.
