Short Description

ITSS Escuela Politecnica Nacional Joint Chapter icon.

The VTS-ITSS-TEC Joint Chapter was founded in early 2024 by a group of students from the Escuela Politécnica Nacional who are passionate about intelligent transportation systems and vehicular technologies. During 2024, as our first year as a chapter, we organized several technical activities, including visits to vehicle assembly plants, a vehicle inspection and evaluation center in Ecuador, as well as workshops and other academic events.

The VTS-ITSS-TEC Joint Chapter belongs to the IEEE Ecuador Section, Region 09.

Chapter Activities

Educational Programs

  • Ecuadorian Summer School on Telerobotics and Autonomous Systems (August 2026) – 5-day intensive program with Distinguished Lecturers, hands-on workshops, industry visits, and poster competition. Expected 100 participants.
  • Technical Workshops – Regular sessions on control systems, AI for autonomous navigation, drone path planning, and simulation tools for intelligent transportation systems.

Industry Engagement

  • Technical Visits – Organized tours to vehicle manufacturing plants, EV facilities, and mobility companies (BYD, Kia) to connect students with real-world applications on Latin America
