Short Description

Foster research and professional activities related to localization and navigation techniques based on the integration of satellite and terrestrial radio signals, visual and inertial data, with applications to vehicular systems. Topics of interest include high precision solutions for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Signals of opportunity (SOOP), Multi Sensor Fusion, Advanced Filtering Techniques, Integrity Monitoring and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM).

Goal

Create a hub for advancing research and collaboration in localization and navigation techniques (e.g., Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), sensor fusion, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), and integrity monitoring) to enable safe and certifiable navigation for autonomous and connected vehicles.

Committee Activities

Activity Plan

  • Organization of an annual workshop or invited session on ITSC or IV.
  • Organization of a tutorial on “GNSS and its Integration on ROS” on one of the flagship conferences every second year.
  • Proposal of a Special Issue on “Certifiable Navigation for Intelligent Vehicles in Complex Scenarios” for one of the ITSS-supported journals..
  • Organization of webinars.
  • Release and disseminate relevant datasets.

Activity Report

  • 4th edition workshop on Intelligent Vehicle Meets Urban: Safe And Certifiable Navigation … accepted at ITSC 2025. Do not miss the chance to connect with us! The workshop will take place on 18th November, 8:30 — 12:30 in room Currumbin.
  • Technical support for the German Autonomy Summit (GAS) event. GAS will take place on 10–11 December in Munich. GAS is a two-day interdisciplinary event targetting the German ITSS and RAS communities. The goal of the event is to establish a recurring national forum to unite the German robotics, automation, and intelligent transportation systems communities — including early-career researchers, academic leaders, and industrial partners.
